Bringing more power to content creators: the new Rich Text Editor

Creating content in SharePoint isn’t just about ticking boxes - it’s about telling stories, sharing updates, and helping people feel connected across your organization. At Accelerator 365, we believe in supporting that mission by building tools that enhance the way you work - without adding complexity.

That’s why we’ve always taken a Microsoft-first approach. We don’t reinvent the wheel - we build right alongside it. When Microsoft introduces new features that improve the user experience, we see it as an opportunity to raise the bar within our own products too.

Inspired by Microsoft, built for content creators

We know content creators are at the heart of every successful intranet - crafting everything from team updates to leadership messaging to company-wide campaigns. And so, our aim was clear: deliver an editing experience that not only mirrors the intuitive, user-friendly enhancements Microsoft introduced, but also adds new layers of flexibility for more expressive, brand-aligned storytelling.

With our latest update to the Rich Text Editor in Accordion, editors now have the freedom to shape content with greater precision, control, and creativity - right from within Accelerator 365 web parts. Whether it’s applying company colors to headings, creating clean tables, or using consistent bullets and numbering, this editor is designed to help your content do more.

Ultimately, this is about giving you - our content creators - the tools to confidently deliver content that’s not only informative, but visually engaging and aligned to your brand identity.

What’s new in the Rich Text Editor?

With this update, we’ve refreshed our Rich Text Editor with a suite of new tools designed specifically to meet the real-world needs of intranet content creators.

What's new:

Font color picker
  • Highlight or stylize your content to match your corporate branding.

Hyperlink editor
  • A more intuitive way to insert, edit, and manage links.

Custom bullet and numbering styles
  • Take greater control over list formatting and visual hierarchy.

Inserting tables
  • Organize your content in a more dynamic, digestible way.

These updates give you the creative freedom to build clearer, more visually engaging content directly within the web parts you already use - without the need for design workarounds or extra development.

Note: In your SharePoint tenant, you may see a pop-up informing you that your content has been automatically updated to support rich text editing functionality. Remember to review the applied changes before saving!

We’re listening: you asked, we delivered

One of our favourite parts of product development? Hearing from you. Recently, a customer asked us if we could support the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + K to quickly insert or edit hyperlinks - something editors are used to from other platforms.

It made total sense. So we built it in.

This feature is now live in the new Rich Text Editor, and it’s a great reminder that your feedback helps shape the way Accelerator 365 evolves. Got a suggestion? Keep them coming - we're all ears!

What’s next? Rolling out across Accelerator 365

This new editor experience is now live in Accordion, our first web part to feature the updated tools. But we’re just getting started - the next step is to roll it out across Accelerator 365 suite.

Try the new editor in Accordion today, and as always, let us know what you think. We’re listening - and we’re building with you.
